The AOCDET-DP range of cables are Active Optical Cables that have a detachable hood to reduce down to mini DisplayPort for feeding through ducting or small spaces, these connectors are screwed together so you will need a small screwdriver to separate them, you then need to attach the metal DP hood again for use with DP equipment.
